The GO Process
Step 1: Seek Counsel and Pray
Pursue God’s direction through prayer and wise counsel. Talk with your pastor or a trusted mentor as you discern your next steps.
Step 2: Explore Opportunities
Browse ministry opportunities and learn about our different locations of service. If possible, visit one of our fields to experience the ministry firsthand and better understand where you might serve.
Step 3: Start the Conversation
Complete a preliminary questionnaire so we can get to know you—your background, skills, and interests. This step is informal and simply opens the door for further conversation.
Step 4: Apply
After connecting with our Mobilization team and exploring a potential ministry fit, you’ll be invited to complete an online application with more detailed information about your education, experience, calling, and vision. You’ll also have several phone interviews with different staff members.
Step 5: Train and Prepare
Once accepted, you will attend Avant Start—a one-week orientation designed to immerse you in Avant’s mission, vision, and values. This experience affirms your fit with the mission and culminates in your appointment as a member of Avant Ministries.
After raising support and before deployment, you’ll attend Avant Go, where focused training and field-specific planning equip you to launch into your ministry assignment.
Step 6: GO
Step into the work God has called you to. You won’t go alone—you’ll be supported through prayer, financial partners, and a ministry team serving together on the field.
