Spain: Land of Hope National Worker
There are about 420 million Arabic speakers around the world. Most of these people are from the Middle East and North Africa, some of the most unreached regions in the world. As these countries experience turmoil, war, and hostility, people are fleeing their home countries, and many are seeking asylum in Spain.
Seeing the need to care for these refugees and give them opportunities to hear the gospel, Land of Hope was created by one of Avant’s workers in Spain. Land of Hope ministers to refugees through language classes, vocational training, and legal and medical assistance, while consistently sharing with them the good news.
This ministry has impacted the lives of refugees from 34 different nations! As people have come to Land of Hope and have heard the gospel, many have started coming to the new house fellowship that our worker has started. This fellowship is growing, and there are more men interested in coming. The need for a biblically trained pastor, who can minister to the men in the fellowship, has become pressing. Through the Lord’s provision, a young man, who can relate to the culture and beliefs of many of the refugees, has joined Land of Hope and will be leading this new and growing fellowship.
To help this young leader get established in the ministry, Avant is seeking to raise $25,300 to pay his salary for one year until he can raise his support. This pastor will bring a perspective, dimension, and depth to the life of the church that is invaluable. New Arabic believers, who have never seen someone of their own culture and language following Jesus, will have a leader who look like them, talk like them, and understand the background and experiences they come from.
Would you consider joining us to mobilize these leaders into church planting ministry among refugees in Spain?
