W. Asia: Ministry Mobilization
The next step for church growth and greater outreach in the city is mobilizing church members for full-time ministry. As church planters, our workers have been serving the church full-time with a heavy emphasis on evangelism while preaching and leading the church. The time seems right for our workers to focus on passing the baton to local church leaders, training and empowering them to lead the church in this next season of ministry.
God has raised up three qualified church members who feel God’s calling to full-time ministry. Two of them have already begun serving the church, one as a deacon and the other as a ministry assistant. Another young man is being mobilized for pastoral ministry. To prepare him for this pastoral role, the church is sending him to a Bible school in Greece where he will study for two years before being appointed as the assistant pastor.
Avant has started a project to mobilize these three workers into full-time ministry. This project will cover the salary and ministry expenses of the future pastor, deacon, and ministry assistant for four years, as well as two years of Biblical education for the pastor in training. These funds will help launch these leaders into ministry as the church prepares for independence.
We’re excited to see local believers begin to take leadership of the church and we look forward to all that God will do in the next ten years of the life and ministry of this church.
