"Now I'm one of you!"
At the end of Bible class each week, Hal was always the student to remind us that “time was up.”
During our final class, God prompted me to give Bibles to each student. I showed them how to find the scriptures we had been using for our stories. Each young man took either a French or English Bible. Hal requested English, but at the end of class, he asked to also have a French Bible. Again, God prompted me, and I invited the students to attend church with me.
Hal was the only one to come; it was his first visit ever. The theme was “Who is Jesus?” By God’s plan the message incorporated two of the stories we had studied in class just a few weeks prior.
Afterwards, I asked Hal what he thought about the service. He said he was impressed that the pastor prayed for the entire country, government, and world-wide events. Hal also said he wanted to come every Sunday. The second Sunday, he started singing along. During the introduction time, Hal said, “I don't have to do this anymore. Now I'm one of ‘you.’”
Hal comes regularly to the English services, and he brings his Bible and takes notes. He told me he reads a page of the Bible every day. Please pray for God to continue to work in Hal’s heart.
